'I didn't hear the question!'

“I actually never even heard the question earlier,” says Mick McBride. He's ringing up to answer Barney Sloan's quiz question: in January 1963 a meeting at the Connaught Hotel in London was televised by the BBC. What was the meeting about?

“Yes, you were talking again, Mick,” Sean says. “Sit up straight. Fold your arms. Pay attention.”

“But…” Mick says, “when I heard the date I knew it!”

“No you didn’t. You’re making this up! You didn’t hear the question but you heard the date?”

Mick gives the right answer. He adds, “Barney might have barred me from this!”

“Not only Barney Sloan,” Sean says. “I have you barred too.”
