‘Round Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades.

Soweto shares more live music from British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist ESKA’s masterful set, recorded at the Barbican as part of our ‘Round Midnight showcase for last year's London Jazz Festival.

ESKA was joined by a core band of Robin Mullarkey on bass, Jose Joyette on drums, Philip Achille on harmonica and Dave Okumu on guitar, who has also been Soweto's 4/4 guest this week. You can listen back to all his selections on BBC Sounds.

This is the first in a trio of Friday night programmes spotlighting music from the artists that featured on our ‘Round Midnight stage. Coming up in the following two weeks; international group LVDF and trumpeter Laura Jurd.
