From tomorrow until Monday 12th January, BBC Radio 3 is taking listeners on a coast-to-coast musical journey across the United States, as 2026 marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Presenters Petroc Trelawny and Georgia Mann will be broadcasting live in four major cities, from East to West, with programmes featuring the best music by American composers and musicians, exclusive performances, interviews, and behind-the-scenes access to some of the most vibrant classical music scenes in the US.
Tonight, Soweto shares more of the best in jazz, and some of exciting music coming out of the four major cities that Petroc and Georgia are visiting.
Also in the programme, Dave Okumu is back to share his fourth and final 4/4 selection, and tonight he chooses an album by two leading musicians.
