Helen Mark presents BBC Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazine show this week alongside Willie Hill, Jonnie Crawford and Rab Lennox.
On a special festive themed show, there’s seasonal adventures across the province. Rebs Lightbody – a former Great British Bake Off contestant – is the perfect team member to visit the Woman’s Institute in Garvagh to talk baking at this time of year! She also discovers the remarkable story behind the woman who came to Garvagh and set up what was the first Women’s Institute on the island!
Meanwhile – Jane Rea follows up on the story behind the incredible new building at her place of worship – Buckna Presbyterian Church. She visit’s rehearsals for their first big event - ‘Buckna in Christmas Praise’ - before documenting the big night. Finally, Jonnie learns a seasonal craft at his local community association up in Ballymoney.
