Belfast Tartan Day Dander!

Helen and Rab take part in the now annual Belfast Tartan Day Dander, meeting some of the organisers, musicians and dancers taking part – and finding out what some bewildered, but entertained members of the public made of the whole thing!
Hundreds of people took part in what was the second annual gathering - including pipe bands and Highland dancers, many of them braving the November cold in kilts. Dozens of shoppers stopped what they were doing to video and picture the tartan-clad parade as it wound its way through the city centre. The event, organised by the Ulster Scots Agency, began on Victoria Street, before making its way to City Hall. Our dynamic duo documented the day – with Rab actually taking part while Helen rushed up and down the parade taking in all the colour and chaos! Meanwhile – Jonnie Crawford took a deep dive into the history and creation of tartan.
