Lopa Kothari picks out fresh roots-based music, and Karachi-born spiritual practitioner Manizeh guides us through two tracks: one for the road, and one that reminds her of home.

Lopa Kothari picks out fresh releases from across the world of folk and roots music, including a prayer song dedicated to the Dalai Lama from Tibetan musician, activist and composer Tenzin Choegyal, and Gambian kora player Suntou Susso’s reflections on his responsibilities as a modern griot in a world shaped by technology and climate change.

Plus, Karachi-born, London-based spiritual practitioner Manizeh’s debut album explores themes of ancestry through her own chanting practice. She joins Lopa to share her two ‘Return Journey’ tracks: one for the road and one that takes her home.
