Bluey from Incognito is the Rewind Selector!

Feel-good tunes to make you groove! And Incognito bandleader Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick chooses the tracks that take him back to the dancefloors of his youth in Rewind Selector.

Feel-good favourites, hidden gems and fresh tunes to make you groove. DJ Spoony serves up a brilliant selection of soulful house, classic soul, disco, RnB, UK Garage, Reggae, hip hop, doo-wop, funk, dance remixes, and much more.

This week, DJ Spoony welcomes Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick, the visionary founder of the legendary British acid jazz collective Incognito, as the Rewind Selector. With a career spanning over four decades, Bluey has shaped the sound of UK soul and jazz-funk, blending infectious grooves with uplifting melodies. Incognito’s biggest UK hit, 'Always There', featuring Jocelyn Brown, reached No. 6 in 1991. Bluey and the band are set to release their 20th studio album, 'Music. Magic. Ironic', on Christmas day. They will also play a special run of shows at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London on New Year’s Eve and beyond. As the Rewind Selector, Bluey will take us on a journey through the tracks that take him back to the dancefloors of his youth.

Spoony wraps things up with a ‘Midnight Feast’ track. Think big production, lush orchestration, and the best voices in the business! To listen on most smart speakers, just say “ask BBC Sounds to play The Good Groove with DJ Spoony".
