No Justice, Just Kills

Following the families of 24 Iraqis killed by US marines in Haditha, Iraq, as they learn – 20 years later – why their families’ killers walked free.

On 19 November 2005, US marines killed 24 civilians in Haditha, Iraq, many of them women and children. The incident led to the longest and most expensive war crimes investigation in US military history. While four marines were implicated in the killings that day, only one – Frank Wuterich – stood trial. And none served a day in prison.

Through interviews with the forensic investigator and lawyers who worked on the case, BBC Eye reveals never-before-seen evidence implicating two marines who were never prosecuted for the deaths of the women and children in Haditha.

Featuring undisclosed legal documents, court testimonies and exclusive interviews with US marines, this three-year investigation shows the failed prosecution of the case, which resulted in what lawyers for one of the marines say was a 'miscarriage of justice'.
