Australia is about to implement one of the world's first bans on social media for under 16s.

It will officially take effect on the 10th of December, but from today, Meta has begun deactivating accounts for younger users on Instagram, Facebook, and Threads in preparation for next week's ban.

Scotland’s countryside risks becoming ‘beautiful but lifeless’ amid ageing demographics and the closure of key services in parts like Caithness and the west Highlands, according to a rural organisation.
