Live from the University Chapel of St Andrews in Fife

Kate Molleson introduces seasonal music and poetry from the historic St Salvator’s Chapel in the heart of Scotland’s oldest university town with live music from the Chapel Choir.

Join Kate Molleson live from St Salvator's University Chapel in St Andrews on the east coast of Fife, as she welcomes the arrival of the Christmas season on the feast day of Scotland’s patron saint. Joining the celebrations are folk duo Catriona McKay and Christ Stout performing live on harp and fiddle, and St Salvator's Chapel Choir fill the air with glorious choral music, and carols to mark the start of the Advent and Christmas season. Poet and writer Don Paterson talks to Kate about St Andrews as a place of pilgrimage, and Scottish language performer Len Pennie nods at Christmas and Hogmanay traditions with her own poem. Sound of Cinema presenter, Edith Bowman, shares her love for West Sands Beach, made famous as a location in the 1981 film Chariots of Fire, and we could not celebrate St Andrew's Day without the sound of bagpipes.
