Ulster-Scot’s Culture Goes global - via Lurgan’s Culture in the Park!

Ulster-Scot’s culture goes global - via Lurgan’s Culture in the Park!

Rab Lennox and Willie Hill present a special edition of BBC Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazine show. What was supposed to be a simple report from September’s ‘Culture in the Park’ in Lurgan got a little out of hand – as Rab and Willie ended up having chats with not just Ulster-Scots and Irish trad musicians – but creative sorts from all over the world. In the end – it needed it’s own show!
With the help of organiser Mark Wilson – who has been around the world performing atand curating Ulster-Scot events – the two discuss why pipes, drums and the like collaborate so well with other musical cultures despite some challenges.
As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by emailing Helen – [email protected]
