The Jewish Music Institute archive in Three Tracks

Lopa Kothari serves up a slice of Ehtio-jazz and groove-laden Thai country music. Plus Israeli DJ and producer Tai Rona delves into the archives of London's Jewish Music Institute.

Lopa Kothari presents fresh discoveries from across the world of folk and roots music, including groove-laden 1970s folk-country from Northern Thailand and new music from the father of Ethio-jazz, Mulatu Astatke. He marks his return with a series of masterful new arrangements of some of his classic compositions on his first major studio album in over a decade.

Plus, Israeli DJ and producer Tai Rona delves into the Jewish Music Institute archives. Following long days exploring the extraordinary collection of thousands of records and shellacs, he selects three highlights: a Sabbath prayer, a Yemeni field recording, and a cross-cultural lullaby.
