InterAct Stroke Support
InterAct Stroke Support helps stroke survivors across UK hospitals recover through reading and storytelling. Led by professional actors, our reading sessions prevent post-stroke depression, boost memory and language.
What InterAct does

Many stroke patients experience memory and speech difficulties. Our actors go into stroke hospital wards, reading stories, poems and singing songs tailored to the patients interests.
The challenge of recovery

For many stroke survivors, stroke is life-altering. Speech, memory, and reading issues often lead to depression, hindering recovery. InterAct’s actor-led reading sessions lift mood and spark memory, reconnecting survivors with the world.
A renewed sense of hope

Thanks to the reading sessions stroke survivors receive, they feel more positive about recovery and more willing to engage in further therapies.
