Fields of Danger as Farmer Is Impaled and Eagles Threaten Highland Flocks

Episode 1 of 15

The East Anglian air ambulance races to save a farmer after a freak accident, lambs face attack from birds of prey, and Paul Colgan investigates illegal fly-tipping in Cheshire.

In Cambridgeshire, the East Anglian air ambulance races to save farmer Jonathan Willis, after a freak accident leaves him impaled on his forklift. When the crew arrive, they realise one wrong move could prove fatal. The rescue is complex and high risk, with medics battling to stabilise Jonathan in the middle of his own yard, before rushing him to a specialist major trauma unit. Featuring dramatic CCTV footage of the incident and first-hand accounts from Jonathan, his wife Wendy and paramedic Andy Bates, this is an extraordinary story of split-second decisions and sheer determination in the fight to save a life.

Meanwhile, in the Scottish Highlands, farmers face devastating attacks on their lambs by white tailed eagles, threatening livelihoods and sparking debate over how to protect flocks.

And in Cheshire, reporter Paul Colgan joins police tackling the surge in illegal fly-tipping, exposing how organised gangs are blighting farmland across the region.
