Arts lover and BBC presenter Nikki Bedi travels to the south west of Turkey, sailing along the Turquoise Coast and immersing herself in its culture and nature.

Arts lover and BBC presenter Nikki Bedi travels to the south west of Turkey, sailing along the Turquoise Coast and immersing herself in its culture and nature.

Starting in the marina town of Göcek, Nikki sets sail in a traditional wooden Turkish boat, the gulet, once a traditional fishing boat and now used as a luxury yacht to showcase this coastal route to visitors.

On her voyage, Nikki swims in ancient baths believed to be a gift from Marc Antony to Cleopatra and visits a rock painting by one of Turkey's greatest artists - Bedri Rahmi. She explores a spectacular, abandoned area known locally as the 'Ghost Town' and ends her trip in Butterfly Valley, an area made known by Australian hippies in the 1970s that's now promoting wellness and tranquillity.

Along the way, Nikki meets Turkish artists finding inspiration in their relationship with the history of this area and its coastal beauty.
