An Afternoon with Olivia Nash
A visit to Larne for a cuppa with the one and only Olivia Nash, who discusses her remarkable career to date.
Jonnie Crawford presents a special edition of BBC Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazine show, spending an afternoon in Larne at the home of a national treasure – actress Olivia Nash.
In a wide-ranging interview, Olivia chats about happy times growing up in Larne and meeting her husband while acting with the Larne Drama Circle. She covers her time working alongside Jimmy Young and explains how she ended up shouting the iconic line - ‘Fred, there’s no bread!’
There’s chat about one recent film Olivia is particularly proud of and – of course – over thirty years on screen and stage as everyone’s favourite Ma!
All alongside some carefully selected music choices and plenty of clips of Olivia in action….
As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email - [email protected].
