BBC SSO Season Opener and Erland Cooper

Highlights from the BBC Scottish Symphony's Season Opener at City Halls including Schumann's only Violin Concerto and a new composition from Scottish composer Erland Cooper.

The BBC Scottish Symphony's 25/26 season gets underway at City Halls and we feature works from their opening concert including Schumann's Violin Concerto in D Minor performed by Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovich and Ryan Wigglesworth's tribute to former leader, Laura Samuel, For Laura, after Bach.

This week's featured album comes courtesy of Scottish flautist Richard Craig. (Quasi Una) Fantasia : Craig and Telemann marries Telemann's Fantasias for flute alongside his own improvisations.

And we hear about Sound Festival which begins this week in Aberdeenshire with a line up including Scotland's contemporary Ensemble, Red Note.
