Peterhead

Episode 2 of 2

Ian Hamilton and his guide dog Major travel to Peterhead, traditionally the home of fishing and energy but now looking to renewables.

Ian Hamilton and his guide dog Major travel to Peterhead, where the North Sea meets hard graft. Built on fishing, and now the home of the biggest fish market in Europe, Peterhead reinvented itself with the arrival of oil and gas but is now looking towards renewables.

Ian and Major complain about the early start as they visit the fish market, before Ian plays some crazy golf at a newly renovated town centre park. The pair then head to the harbour to find out about a big new investment in the town, and Ian takes a trip in a fish van around the local area.

After a visit to the notorious Peterhead Prison, which is now a museum, Ian finds himself locked away by the crew, but he manages to escape for a peaceful sailing trip to finish his time in the town.
