Episode 18

Knockout week comes to a head with just ten cooks remaining in the competition. Success could mean a place in the semi-finals, but it will take every ounce of effort to get there.

First, the amateurs have to pass the infamous Invention Test. The contestants have just 60 minutes to deliver something truly extraordinary. The larder is at their disposal with a plentiful supply of fresh fish, meats, vegetables, herbs and spices. Will the vast array on offer cause panic amongst the cooks, or will they be quick to come up with a plan?

Nothing can be left on the table, as there’s only room in the semi-finals for the strongest eight, meaning two will be sent home. At this stage in the competition, the skill level has risen all round, so it’s guaranteed to be a close call.
