Worn by Sofi Thanhauser (Omnibus)

Examining five fabrics, Sofi Thanhauser explores the global decline in quality of the clothing trade. Read by Lanna Joffrey.

Sofi Thanhauser loves clothes, but has concerns about the quality of modern clothing, its disposable nature and the impact that mass production has on workers’ rights.

Sofi travels across the world to meet people making linen, cotton, silk, synthetics and wool to get to the heart of an industry which doubled between 2000 and 2014, and is worth four times more than the global arms trade.

Sofi Thanhauser's richly evocative study, first published in 2022.

Omnibus of five parts read by Lanna Joffrey.

Abridged and produced by Alexandra Quinn.

A Loftus Media production for BBC Radio 4, first broadcast in January 2022.
