Jamie MacDougall presents a special festive edition of the programme, including some seasonal classics from the Earthtones Trio introduced by pianist Euan Stevenson (We Three Kings/O Holy Night), Prokofiev’s Winter Bonfire, Thea Musgrave’s setting of Robert Burns poems featuring soprano Lisa Milne, and it wouldn’t be a Christmas show without music from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, performed tonight by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Plus Jamie shares news of next year’s BBC Radio Scotland Young Classical Musician award.
