In this special series, digital nomad Lucy Hedges sets off on an incredible adventure to the vast, untouched plains of Mongolia to experience life as a traditional nomad.
Kicking off in the capital, Ulaanbaatar, Lucy discovers the city's communist links, as it marks 100 years since being renamed by the Soviets. And, before heading into the wild, Lucy meets former nomads who have been forced to abandon the harsh life on the steppe for a less itinerant life in the city. She tries her hand at bartering to secure essential supplies at the famous Naran Tuul market and throws herself into the curious art of throat singing - an ancient form of entertainment - with mixed results!
