She bags her mum a pro bono solicitor, who seems about as good at law as he is finding a pen on his cluttered desk. After the court hearing, Alma is left questioning everything and unsure what to do next.

She opens up to Jim. Jim tells her to write down all her family stories and all her experiences and use them in her stand up, turning them into art like her mum does. Alma is enthused, and her writing starts to flow. She lands another stand-up gig and asks her agent to invite a BBC producer to see the show- and the rest, as they say, is history.
