The Stadio Olimpico is the setting for the Italian leg of the 2024 Diamond League as some of the world’s top athletes take centre stage in Rome.

With just two meets left after this one, it’s all to play for ahead of the finale in Brussels. 2023’s event – held at Stadio Luigi Ridolfi in Florence – saw Kenyan runner Faith Kipyegon become the first woman in history to run the 1500m in under 3:50, setting a world record time of 3:49:11.

There is also British interest as Molly Caudery looks to put behind the disappointment of failing to qualify for the women’s pole vault final at the Paris Olympics, while Daryll Neita is expected to compete in the women’s 200m.
