Derek marvels at one of the UK’s first tourist walks as he follows William Gilpin’s Wye Tour, which encouraged 19th century tourists to visit the area. He takes to the water in a canoe and heads downstream to the old Victorian station at Tintern, where he visits the famous Tintern Abbey and is told of a recent and remarkable discovery. He finishes his walk in Chepstow where he presents the Weatherman Walking Local Hero Award.
