An orphan is sent to live on a grand country estate crumbling in parts - run by her injured uncle who staggers around on crutches yelling at everyone.

One son Mark is obsessed with horses and is cruel and reckless whilst the other one, Will, is studious and prefers flying to hunting.

It's an English household divided by emotional undercurrents and cruelty...
