Petroc Trelawny presents the Vienna Philharmonic’s annual New Year’s Day concert, taking place at the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna.
The orchestra is directed by guest conductor Christian Thielemann, principal conductor of the Staatskapelle Dresden, in an array of polkas, waltzes and gallops by the Strauss family and their contemporaries. As always, the concert ends with the ever-popular By the Beautiful Blue Danube and the foot-stamping Radetsky March.
