Broadcaster Steve Wright looks back at the times when Nicholas Parsons guested on his hugely popular BBC Radio 2 show.

As a show, Steve Wright in the Afternoon - both on Radio 1 and Radio 2 - was renowned for the calibre of its guest interviews, none more so than in the field of comedy. From Jack Dee to Chevy Chase, the guest chair rocked with mirth as Steve and The Posse used their unique approach to establish what made the interviewee tick.

Nicholas Parsons was the most frequent guest. Steve's admiration of him from an early age, combined with Nicholas's generosity, charm and wealth of anecdotes always made for entertaining listening.
