BBC Children in Need’s ambition is to create lasting, positive change right across the UK for the children and young people who need it most. Funding more than 1,700 charities and projects, Children in Need helps to provide resources, spaces and specialised support to those who might be facing health conditions or illness, mental health challenges or social injustice, among other challenges. Its funding enables projects to continue crucial work to support children and young people feel safe and secure, happy and understood, and to maximise and reach their full potentials.
Steps

Steps supports children with SEN or conditions affecting their motor skills and development, such as cerebral palsy or chromosome disorders. Their physical therapy programmes, help children maximise their potential.
Joey’s story

Joey has cerebral palsy, and spent his early years in chronic pain. Steps has provided physical therapy and support for his family. After a complex spinal operation, Joey has been able to take his first steps without his wheelchair.
