Music to get lost in. Jamie MacDougall sets aside the to-do list and drifts off into all-encompassing musical worlds.
The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra depicts the dreams of a faun with Debussy and a vivid fantasy land of lost souls in Tchaikovsky’s Francesca da Rimini. There’s a new release by the Dunedin Consort and director John Butt of Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor, written to celebrate his marriage to Constanze Weber. Plus conductor Elim Chan, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and pianist Benjamin Grosvenor perform Chopin’s Piano Concerto in F minor, written at the end of his student days in Warsaw.
