100 Years of BBC Aberdeen

Anna Massie hosts an evening full of live music and gems from the BBC Aberdeen archives in celebration of 100 years of broadcasting in the Granite City.

The 10th October 2023 marks 100 years to the day since the very first broadcast from BBC Aberdeen. In this special edition of Travelling Folk - recorded with an audience in BBC Aberdeen and featuring music and conversation with Steve Byrne, Paul Anderson, Ellie Beaton, Gillie O'Flaherty and Joe Aitken - we celebrate the rich musical heritage of the North-East and explore how BBC Aberdeen has captured and bolstered traditional music over the years.
