1975
Episode 6 of 10
Radio Wales’s Wynne Evans delves into the BBC Wales archives from 1975 to share some nostalgia. He also reveals some of his own family film memories.
Wynne looks back at 1975 and some of the more unusual news stories of that year, including a communal loo in Newtown, a man on a bed of nails and a horse whisperer. There’s plenty of nostalgic fare with Carmarthen’s coracle fishermen, Welsh cakes and a harp-making community.
The Old Grey Whistle Test - bastion of the cool music scene - features well-known south Wales band Sassafras, and there’s a comedy flashback from The Goodies. Local people make their predictions for the year ahead and share their struggle with the introduction of new European measurements.
