Gary West chats to Steven Blake, Director of the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland, along with Morag MacDonald, manager of the Scottish Government’s Youth Music Initiative, one of its key funders. With both institutions marking their twentieth anniversary, there is much to celebrate in the strength and depth of youth music across the nation, with piping and drumming leading the way. With music from Sgoil Chuil na Gaidhealteachd, Chris Armstrong, Andy Wright, Malin Makes Music, Dollar Academy, as well as the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland itself.
