4 Extra Debut. Three people find themselves trapped in a pitch black, flooding mine. Stars Christopher Good, Carol Marsh and Carleton Hobbs.

Three people find themselves trapped in a pitch black, flooding mine. Is this the end?

‘Danger’ or ‘The Mine Play’ is regarded as the BBC’s first ever radio drama.

Originally broadcast live in February 1923, when the audience was invited to listen in the dark for maximum effect.

This version was re-recorded to mark the play's 50th anniversary - and now rebroadcast on 4 Extra to mark the centenary.

Written by Richard Hughes.

A young couple and an older man find themselves trapped in a lightless, flooding mine.

The growing peril prompts thoughts about life and death, and the value of age.
