JJ Chalmers and Isa Guha round up the best of the day’s action as 23 gold medals were dished out at the 22nd Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
The impressive new Sandwell Aquatics Centre was the venue for an expected Battle of Britain showdown between Tokyo heroes Tom Dean and Duncan Scott in the men’s 200m freestyle final. Dean stormed to a brilliant gold in the event at last summer’s Olympics, just ahead of his GB teammate Scott, but they will now face off in an England v Scotland showdown.
The Home Nations were also expected to medal on a busy day of track cycling, while the marathons took place around the roads of Birmingham.
