Tonight at the Games: Day 5
Highlights of day five, with Dina Asher-Smith, Keely Hodgkinson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce all getting their track campaigns under way. Adam Peaty was also in action in the swimming.
The best action and reaction from the multi-sport championships in Birmingham, with athletics and swimming accounting for nearly half of the 37 gold medals won on day five.
Global athletics stars such as Dina Asher-Smith, Keely Hodgkinson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce all got their track campaigns under way at the Alexander Stadium, while three-time Olympic champion Adam Peaty was seeking to avenge his rare defeat in the pool at the previous Commonwealth Games four years ago.
The rest of the day’s sporting action included five apparatus finals in artistic gymnastics, plus judo, 3x3 basketball, lawn bowls and more.
Presented by JJ Chalmers and Isa Guha.
