Newsround presenter De-Graft Mensah heads to Ghana, the country of his family’s heritage, to find out about the legacy of the British Empire on the country and its people.
De-Graft will visit Ghana’s capital Accra, to learn about life in the country today; he’ll head to the coastal region, home to his family, to discover the lasting impact left by the Transatlantic slave trade; in Kumasi, he’ll learn how Britain used violence to make a profit from the country; before returning to Accra to learn what modern Ghanaians think about the legacy of the Empire.
