Episode 5

Kelvin and Liz must make their toughest decision so far: deciding the fate of one of their male lambs. The castrated lamb is of no use to them for breeding, so Kelvin wonders whether it is time to take his first trip to the slaughterhouse.

Following an inspirational visit to a local farm, the Fletchers decide to expand their own collection of livestock.

As they approach the end of their first summer on the farm, Kelvin’s old Emmerdale castmates, Danny Miller and Adam Thomas, come to visit. As they tour the farm, meeting the animals, they are impressed by Kelvin’s dedication to his new way of life. Meanwhile, Liz is focusing her efforts on renovating their holiday let. A shortage of tradesmen has meant her long-suffering dad, Dave, has been doing a lot of the work single-handed. Liz has finally found a local builder to help, but just as work starts to progress more quickly, they make some unwelcome discoveries.
