From H-Block prisoner to Brinks robber to best-selling author - Sam Millar's life story reads like one of his crime novels.

Sam Millar grew up in north Belfast in the 1960s and joined the IRA when he was a teenager. After leaving the Maze prison where he'd spent years taking part in the H-Block blanket protests - he moved to New York - where he took part in one of the biggest cash heists in US history.

Now an award-winning author of crime novels, the truth of Sam Millar's life might just be stranger than anything you'd find in a book.
