Top Tunes of the Bagpipe Kind
A mix of top bagpipe sounds including the first broadcast of a brand new single from chart-toppers, the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
Gary West brings you an eclectic mix of bagpipe forms and sounds including an exclusive play of a brand new charity single from the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. The Guards scored a number one hit in 1972 with their arrangement of Amazing Grace - can they repeat that feat almost fifty years later?! We also re-visit world pipe band championships past, with sets from Scottish Power and Inveraray and District, there are contributions too from two players who were honoured at the recent Scots Trad Awards, Allan MacDonald and Craig Muirhead, and tunes aplenty from Annie Grace, Iain MacInnes, Niall Matheson and the original Red Hot Chilli Piper himself, Stuart Cassells.
