Lynda’s feeling a cut above the rest while Jazzer and Will hatch a plan.

Lilian’s confused when Lynda tells her she’s organised a hair stylist for the both of them - Lynda’s investiture is still a couple of weeks away. Lilian’s horrified when she learns it’s Chelsea Horrobin. Quietly Lilian warns Chelsea that while Lynda appears fine underneath she is actually quite vulnerable. Chelsea’s not put off and plans a pixie cut for Lynda.
When Lynda sees her new cut and colour for the first time, she’s speechless. Lilian quickly jumps to her defence and Chelsea panics. But then Lynda finds her words and thanks Chelsea profusely – she never imagined she’d look as she does now. She recruits Chelsea for hair and make-up on The Ambridge Mystery Plays. Lilian accepts that Lynda does look amazing but when Chelsea invites her to take her seat she declines. She’ll keep her appointment with Fabrice after all.
Jazzer seeks advice from Will about handling teenagers. Tracy’s worried about Chelsea getting in with a bad crowd at college and wants Jazzer to have a word. But Chelsea’s told Jazzer she’s not interested in what he has to say. Will has little to offer, explaining that he has the opposite problem with Mia: she’s either studying or worrying about damage to the planet. Jim joins them but has no wisdom to share as Fiona and Alistair gave no trouble during their teens. But Jim’s comment on Jazzer and Will’s problems inspires Jazzer: they need to get Chelsea and Mia to spend time together so they can rub off on one another. It might just work, says Jim.
