It’s a big day for Eddie and Clarrie, and Oliver steps up to the mark.

It’s Clarrie and Eddie’s big day, and Will and Oliver agree that Joe and Nic are with them in spirit. After an early hiccup with the generator and some fairy lights, things get underway at the cider shed. Eddie has butterflies, nervous Clarrie’s in the limo, and the cider’s flowing for everyone. A little too much in the case of vicar Alan, who gulps his down on an empty stomach, then breaks into song and begins to stumble his way through a trial run. Outside, Clarrie has her old, new, borrowed and blue items beautifully and poignantly sorted by the family, with the ‘new’ being a pay and display ticket supplied by Will. Perfect! Inside the shed, chaos reigns as it becomes clear tipsy Alan’s in no fit state to preside and is on the verge of falling asleep. Resourceful Eddie persuades reluctant Oliver to step in and take the ceremony, and finally all passes off without a hitch.
The after party goes with a swing, rounded off by Eddie springing a surprise trip to Paris on Clarrie. He’s been saving up. He’s packed her bag, and they leave tonight for a little hotel near Montmartre. Everything’s taken care of. Clarrie declares how lucky she is, and Eddie counters that he’s the lucky one. They reaffirm their love for one another as they say their goodbyes and prepare to set off in the Grundy limo.
