Worcestershire Royal Hospital
Dr Phil Hammond hears stories of staff and patients at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital. Does humour help us cope? From 2021.
An innovative mix of comedy performance and documentary in a series presented by Dr Phil Hammond.
As a doctor and a comedian, Phil knows that humour and laughter are vital coping mechanisms in the NHS, as he travels the UK on a mission to listen to the beating heart of a national institution.
This time Dr Phil visits the Worcestershire Royal Hospital, where he hears stories from staff and patients - as he reveals how humour and laughter are vital coping mechanisms in the NHS.
And Dr Phil performs a free stand-up comedy show for the staff based on his listening experiences at that location and the stories of the people he has met.
Producer: David Morley.
A Ride production for BBC Radio 4, first broadcast in September 2021.
