The Golden Age Of Broadway

The BBC Concert Orchestra & conductor Richard Balcombe are joined by Louise Dearman, Katie Hall, Nadim Naaman and Jamie Parker in songs from Broadway's Golden Age at the BBC Proms.

BBC Radio 2 pays a visit to the BBC Proms for a celebration of The Golden Age Of Broadway.

Smell the greasepaint and feel the blaze of those Broadway lights, as the BBC Concert Orchestra whisks you away for a night at the musicals.

The toe-tapping favourites include songs from musicals including South Pacific, My Fair Lady, Anything Goes, Annie Get Your Gun and High Society, all performed by the ever-versatile BBC Concert Orchestra and conductor Richard Balcombe, who are joined by star singers Louise Dearman, Katie Hall, Nadim Naaman and Jamie Parker in classic songs from Broadway's Golden Age.

Elaine Paige presents, and during the interval she celebrates 40 years of Cats and 35 years of Chess, with show tunes and memories from starring in both musicals.
