Detective Mike Hoolihan is called in to investigate the death of a leading astrophysicist. As her investigation proceeds, Hoolihan begins to question her own place in the universe.

Based on the novel Night Train by Martin Amis, Detective Mike Hoolihan is called in to investigate the death of a leading astrophysicist, Jennifer Rockwell, the daughter of a well-respected local family in New Orleans. As her investigation proceeds, Hoolihan is introduced to the victim's speciality of black holes and begins to question her own place in the universe.
