It is a tough opening fixture for the hosts, but manager Gareth Southgate can call upon a formidable array of attacking options, not least captain Harry Kane, who scored a late winner when England beat the Croats in the Nations League, gaining a small measure of revenge for their World Cup exit.
The only previous meeting at a European Championship finals came in 2004, when Wayne Rooney inspired England to a 4-2 victory, but Croatia did claim a famous qualifying win at Wembley in 2007, preventing the Three Lions from reaching Euro 2008.
Alan Shearer, Rio Ferdinand and Thierry Henry provide analysis, with commentary from Guy Mowbray and Jermaine Jenas.
