Lee’s managed to get on to the Beechwood WhatsApp group courtesy not of Joy but a different neighbour. Joy gets a text from Fallon, who’s recommended her for the fete committee. Joy’s shocked to learn Lynda wants to interview her. Helen explains Lynda takes the fete very seriously. Joy asserts she’s met a few Lynda Snells in her time – she’ll deal with it. She offers to babysit for Helen and Lee while they go to the Lower Loxley drive-in movie. But when Helen checks in with Joy later, she discovers Jack and Henry have been playing with some of Lee’s superhero figures. The figures are undamaged but the boxes are ripped. Joy reassures panicked Helen she can look online and replace them. Lee will never need to know.
Nervous Adam finds Brian scouring the farm accounts. He’s relieved to find Brian’s only looking for a source of funding for Alice’s rehab, hoping to take some of his share of any partnership profits early. Before Adam can intervene Brian spots a discrepancy – the machinery investment account is sitting at five thousand less than it should be. Adam’s evasive, and when Brian starts to suspect Alice might have had a hand in the shortfall, Adam assures Brian he’ll sort it, and to leave it with him. But later as Brian persists with the idea that it was Alice who took the money, Adam is finally forced to admit it was him.
