Negotiations commence at Brookfield and Neil comes to a decision.

Kirsty visits Brookfield on a mission to find inspirational spaces in addition to their barn for setting the Mystery Plays. She finds a perfect spot on the lower slopes of Lakey Hill. David has to agree it’s a special place. He offers to lend a few penned sheep for the shepherd’s scene. He’s a bit bamboozled when Kirsty goes on to pronounce Brookfield yard ideal for another scene, and hints that she also needs somewhere cosy and homely for the Annunciation. When David reports later to Brian that Kirsty’s production was after their kitchen too, Brian laughs that he should take it as a compliment that Brookfield is clearly Lynda’s favourite Ambridge farm.
Brian puts to David Ruairi’s suggestion of shifting Brookfield sheep to Home Farm. It wouldn’t be the first time the farms have helped each other out. David’s a bit miffed that Ben and Ruairi have clearly discussed Brookfield’s unformed plans, but Brian presses on and David agrees to give a Home Farm grazing licence some thought.
Under pressure, Neil’s decided to resign as Chair of the parish council. Shula persuades him to give it some more thought. In turn he wonders whether she’s made progress with her decision about her ordination course. Shula speaks to Alan. He explains being a vicar means pretty much doing it on your own. You need hope, humility and to not be afraid. Whatever Shula decides, the choice is hers and hers alone.
