Martin Jarvis directs David Mamet’s tense thriller, set in New York City.

Joan is a devout Catholic mother, whose son Michael has mutilated the body of his Jewish girlfriend.

As Michael awaits trial in prison, Joan will stop at nothing to free him, even if it means blackening the dead girl’s character.

Joan attempts to persuade her husband Alan, Jewish lawyer Mr Stone and priest to do her deadly bidding. She even tries blackmail.

This present-day, churchgoing Lady Macbeth is driven by her misguided views on intermarriage. The mysterious Mrs Charles might provide a solution to Michael’s freedom.

Then, a final twist in this thrilling and provocative drama.

This is Jarvis & Ayres' seventh collaboration with American playwright David Mamet.
