Harrison delivers some unexpected news and Susan has ambitions.

Susan offers her commiserations to the Grundys on their news that Mia’s a vegan. She’s surprised to learn Clarrie and Eddie are both cast in the Mystery Plays. In her disappointment she offends Clarrie and the two have an awkward morning. Things worsen when Susan discovers the role of Mary has been given to Mia. She feels Kirsty thinks she’s tainted goods after the Echo article. It seems that all the roles are taken…until it occurs to Susan that she’d make an excellent Jesus.
Mia’s coming to stay at Grange Farm for the duration of rehearsals. This is a mixed blessing for Eddie, who’s dismayed at the upcoming change of menu. He perks up when Mia offers to make two birthday cakes for him – only one vegan version – phew!
Meanwhile Kirsty’s trying to persuade Harrison to accept her offer of the part of Jesus. Darrington are putting on a rival production, and Ambridge’s offer will be the stronger with him in the role. But Harrison thinks he should put more time into concentrating on his job. He feels he could have spotted more clues about Philip Moss had he not been so distracted by extracurricular activities. Kirsty assures him that situation was neither of their faults; they shouldn’t let Philip ruin things for them. Harrison later relents and takes the part. He also informs Kirsty Philip’s pleading guilty. Kirsty takes this in; maybe Philip has a conscience after all. Perhaps now she can finally move on.
